Elbow fracture

A fracture of the elbow (elbow fracture-dislocation) is a serious injury in which not only the elbow is dislocated from its normal position (dislocation), but also bone fractures occur. This injury usually requires immediate medical attention as it is associated with significant pain, swelling and functional impairment. Treatment involves setting the fracture, followed by stabilization of the fracture with a cast. Surgical intervention (plate fixation, tension band wiring, anchors) should take place promptly to ensure optimal healing and restoration of joint function. I will be happy to provide detailed information about the appropriate surgical method in a detailed consultation in my medical practice.

Surgical therapy

  • Plate fixation, tension band wiring with wire, tendon suture

Conservative therapy

  • Immobilization with cast/orthosis
  • Physiotherapy
