Carpal tunnel syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition in which the median nerve in the wrist tunnel is constricted, resulting in pain and weakness in the fingers and numbness, particularly in the thumb, index finger and middle finger. Treatment can be conservative with wrist bandages or, in advanced cases, open or endoscopic surgery to relieve the nerve (carpal tunnel release).
