ORTHORIEDL
PAIN-FREE TOGETHER
Tenosynovitis (also known as mommy thumb for mothers) in the wrist occurs when a tendon or tendon sheath is subjected to excessive strain due to unusual or repetitive movements. Pain, swelling and redness occur along the edge of the forearm on the thumb side. Tenosynovitis is usually treated conservatively with immobilization, anti-inflammatory medication, physical therapy such as shockwave and autologous conditioned plasma therapy (ACP/PRP). In severe cases, surgical relief of the affected tendon can help. For detailed information about the appropriate surgical method, I will be happy to take the time for a detailed consultation in my medical practice.
I would be happy to discuss the diagnosis and treatment options with you in a personal consultation.
