ORTHORIEDL
PAIN-FREE TOGETHER
Inflammation of the Achilles tendon (Achillodynia) is often caused by misalignment of the foot or intensive strain. For mild symptoms, physiotherapeutic stretching exercises, orthotic insoles and shoes with a raised heel provide relief, while shock wave therapy and autologous conditioned plasma therapy (ACP/PRP) can help with more severe and long-lasting pain. In frustrating cases, surgical treatment may be necessary. If a bone protrusion (Haglund's deformity) is the actual cause of the chronic inflammation of the Achilles tendon and the bursa located there, this can be treated very well by surgical means. I will be happy to provide you with detailed information about the appropriate surgical method in a detailed consultation in my medical practice.
I would be happy to discuss the diagnosis and treatment options with you in a personal consultation.
