Shoulder fractures

Bone fractures in the shoulder girdle can affect the humerus including the humeral head, the clavicle or the scapula. These fractures can be caused by various accidents and falls and often lead to pain, swelling and restricted movement. Treatment varies depending on the type and severity of the fracture and can range from conservative methods such as immobilization and physiotherapy to surgical procedures to stabilize and heal the bones. Here we have options with plates, screws and splinting nails and, as a last resort, shoulder arthroplasty.
