ORTHORIEDL
PAIN-FREE TOGETHER
Cervical spine pain can have many causes and is often felt as a stabbing, dull or pulling sensation in the neck. It can occur due to muscle tension, overloading, incorrect posture or degenerative changes. This discomfort can manifest itself as tension pain in the neck or upper back and can even radiate into the shoulders or arms. Accompanying symptoms such as dizziness or nausea are also not uncommon. Everyday activities such as prolonged sitting at the computer, unergonomic posture or carrying heavy loads can contribute to the development of this pain. Injuries such as whiplash from accidents, herniated discs, arthritis or osteoporosis can also cause cervical spine pain.
Treatment of cervical spine pain can be varied and often includes rest, physical therapy such as laser therapy, application of heat or cold, muscle relaxants and pain relieving medication, physiotherapy to strengthen the neck muscles and osteopathy. In some cases, interventions such as corticosteroid injections or, in rare situations, surgical procedures may also be necessary to relieve the symptoms and improve the range of motion of the cervical spine.
I would be happy to discuss the diagnosis and treatment options with you in a personal consultation.
