ORTHORIEDL
PAIN-FREE TOGETHER
Low back pain is common and can have various causes. It can be caused by muscle tension, spondylolisthesis (an instability of the spine in which individual vertebrae shift forwards or backwards against each other), osteoporosis, overloading, disc problems or wear of the articulated vertebral body connections. Low back pain is usually perceived as a dull, stabbing or pulling pain and can extend from the lumbar spine to the buttocks or legs. This pain often occurs during everyday movements, heavy lifting, poor posture or prolonged sitting.
Lumbar spine pain is treated with physiotherapy and targeted exercises to strengthen the back muscles, depending on the type and severity. A combination of corticosteroid infiltration, physical therapy such as laser therapy, heat or cold applications and pain medication is also recommended. For severe and long-lasting pain, a one-week inpatient stay, which includes the above measures as well as CT or X-ray targeted infiltrations, can help.
I would be happy to discuss the diagnosis and treatment options with you in a personal consultation.
